Meet Lisa Beard, President & CEO

Lisa Beard is a native Detroiter, community advocate, and mission-driven leader with more than 30 years of experience serving Detroit residents and neighborhoods. As President and CEO, she brings a people-first leadership style rooted in trust, compassion, accountability, and action.

Throughout her career, Lisa has remained focused on one goal: helping people move forward. Whether connecting individuals to employment, supporting families with resources, partnering with local businesses, or advocating for underserved populations, she leads with a deep commitment to service and a strong belief in the power of community.

A Leader Rooted in Detroit

Lisa’s professional experience spans retail, restaurant, nonprofit, and workforce development sectors. Her background includes training, recruiting, marketing, customer service, payroll, conflict resolution, employer engagement, and community outreach. Over the years, she has managed, trained, and hired hundreds of Detroiters while building strong relationships with employers and community partners.

Her outreach efforts have included job fairs, hiring events, resource fairs, and community information sessions in collaboration with major Detroit employers such as FCA and Dakkota Manufacturing. Through this work, she has helped facilitate interviews for more than 5,000 individuals and contributed to the hiring of over 3,000 Detroit residents.

A Heart for People and Community

Lisa’s passion for service is the foundation of her leadership. She is especially dedicated to supporting elders and underserved populations who are often overlooked or disconnected from critical resources. She believes every person deserves dignity, access, and someone willing to listen.

Her approach centers on meeting people where they are and helping them connect to the right opportunities, resources, and relationships to move forward.
